Los Angeles, Calif.-It will be Linkin Park’s Brad Delson who will be speaking at the UCLA commencement exercises as a replacement for James Franco, says reps from the university.
Franco, who’s known for his critically acclaimed performance in Harvey Milk’s biopic, announced earlier that he would not be able to go to the graduation ceremony on June 12 due to a hectic sked.
Delson was a graduate of UCLA back in 1999 with a degree in communications studies. One of the founding members of Linkin Park, Delson founded the Delson Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to students from Huntington Park. California.
Upon learning of Franco’s absence, some UCLA students petitioned for Conan O’Brien, host of the new “Tonight Show,” to be speaker, but the latter turned it down upon request.
