Los Angeles, Calif.- The animated adventure “Up” remains on top of the box office, beating two live-action flicks.
Disney and Pixar Animation’s “Up” was able to garner a total of $44.2 million on its second week of release, securing its top spot in the box office, says studio executives.
The bachelor-bash comedy “The Hangover” came in second with $43.3 million on its opening weekend. Will Ferrell’s action-comedy flick, “Land of the Lost,” arrived third at $19.5 million during its release.
“Up” is the first Hollywood film that has endured two weeks to stay on the top. Because of its continuous success on its second week, the animated film is likely to make a record revenue year for the movie business.
