After his latest film, “Inglourious Basterds,” Brad Pitt is busy working on his next movie, “Moneyball.”

The star was spotted in an L.A. studio on Tuesday, working on the pre-production of his upcoming motion picture, which is based on the 2003 book, “Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game.”

The plot evolves around the lives of the Oakland Athletics baseball team. Pitt will be taking on the character of Billy Beane, the A’s general manager who built the team on a tight budget with new technology to draft players.

Tryouts for baseball players to take part in the movie are already being conducted, and filming will start next week in Anaheim, California. The movie is set for a 2011 release.

The film’s director, Steven Soderbergh, says “I want it to be really funny and entertaining, and I want you to not realize how much information being thrown at you because you’re having fun.”

Pitt was previously busy promoting “Inglourious  Basterds,” at the Cannes Film Festival. He also watched over his children while partner Angelina Jolie was busy filming “Salt” in NYC.
