Ocoee, Florida- Billy Bob Thornton’s oldest child, Amanda Brumfield, was arrested by the police on charges of child neglect, which resulted to the death of an infant she babysat.

Brumfield was reportedly taking care of a 1-year old child when it died after stumbling off the playpen. She says the child died after sustaining a head injury due to a fall from its playpen. She apparently did not call an ambulance until two-and a half hours later.

Ocoee medical examiners meanwhile ruled that the baby’s death was no accident and rather a homicide.

“It’s not believable that a 1-year old can balance on a railing,” says a spokesperson of the Ocoee Police Department. “We do believe her head hit a hard object. However, her head hit a hard object [but] you would either have to fall harder or hit something with more force than a 28-inch playpen fall.”

Brumfield was released on a bond the following day. The eldest among Thornton’s children, Brumfield is Thornton’s only child with ex-wife Melissa Gatlin.
