London, UK- This week has been tumultuous, emotional, and even disparaging to the point that she nearly lost hope, but none of the obstacles hindered Susan Boyle from giving her “greatest performance” in the “Britain’s Got Talent” finals night.

Boyle once again sang “I Dreamed a Dream,” from “Les Miserables,” the piece which made her into an overnight star via YouTube. The 48-year old contestant didn’t fail to wow audiences as well as judges Piers Morgan, Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden. “I Dreamed a Dream” ended with a standing ovation from the audiences and judges.

“That to me was THE greatest performance I’ve seen in ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ history… you should win. I loved it,” says Piers.

“You did it, girl, you did it for Scotland,” adds Amanda.

Simon, who rarely becomes emotional, had a tear in his eye in watching Boyle perform.

“You could have walked away and have had a lot of stuff coming your way in America,” Simon said. “Win or lose, you had the guts to come back here tonight, face your critics, and you beat them and that’s the most [important] thing… You can walk away with your head held high. I absolutely adore you.”

Susan Boyle has been the subject of the tabloids lately, particularly when rumors about her lashing off some journalists trying to interview her outside the hotel in which she was staying. She nearly quit the competition because of the media hype, but still decided to enter the finals thanks to words of encouragement from friends as well as American fans such as Oprah Winfrey and Demi Moore.
