‘American Idol’ Season 2 runner-up Clay Aiken apologizes to Adam Lambert after the nasty comments he wrote on his website on Friday.
Adam Lambert lost to Kris Allen in this season of ‘Idol,’ just like Clay Aiken did to Ruben Studdard back in the show’s second season years ago. Both Lambert and Aiken are flamboyant performers, and since Aiken received a more astonishing musical career than Studdard himself, everyone’s speculating that Lambert will be following his footsteps-which Aiken disagreed with.
On his website last Thursday, Aiken described Lambert’s performances to be “contrived, awful and slightly frightening,” and that he thought his “ears would bleed,”
But Aiken quickly retracted his comments and explained what he said, in a follow-up post on his site.
“Since my previous blog got dissected like a biology lab frog, I suppose I should clarify and even retract some of what I wrote,” says Aiken on his website. “I hope no one actually believed that blood truly poured forth from my ears when I heard him. I obviously meant it as a colorful statement to imply that I did not enjoy what I heard.”
“So, I do apologize to Adam for my colorful (and negative) choice of words. I hope he can forgive me,” he wrote. “I imagine he doesn’t give a damn! J God knows he shouldn’t.”
