Los Angeles, Calif.- It was hot and tense inside the Nokia Theatre as Adam Lambert and Kris Allen fought head-to-head in winning this season’s “Idol” crown, but they’re not the only ones in battle.

Outside the “American Idol” venue, judge Simon Cowell’s ex-girlfriend, Terri Seymour, was attacked and nearly choked.

Janice Thibodeaux, 33, allegedly assaulted Cowell’s ex, minutes after the “Idol” showdown. Thibodeaux reportedly asked Seymour if she was Cowell’s girlfriend, and then reportedly tried to choke her.

Thibodeaux is now facing felony battery and is held on a $52,700 bail.

Seymour meanwhile refused medical treatment, and was assisted by three police officers after the incident.
