Even before hitting the celebrated talent show, Adam Lambert was already a star-that is, on theater. He was on the hit musical “Wicked,” as well as the biblical epic “The Ten Commandments.”

The 27-year old theater actor and “Idol” contender has been in the biz for quite some time now, with a stint in “Wicked,” the prequel to “The Wizard of Oz.” He joined the cast back in March 2005 and stayed for six months, then moved to its Los Angeles production in February 2007 and became part of the show until October 2008. Lambert was the understudy of the character Fieryo.

In 2004, Lambert starred opposite Val Kilmer in the musical version of “The Ten Commandments,” as the slave Joshua. While the show itself didn’t garner favorable reviews, Lambert was noticed for his acting and singing skills-which, according to the New York Times, was the show’s “most consistent crowd wower.”

The 27-year old Adam Lambert will be facing Kris Allen on Wednesday in battling for this year’s “American Idol” crown.
