“Farrah’s Story,” the documentary of Farrah Fawcett’s fight against cancer, drew a viewership of more than 8.9 million, says NBC.

The inspiring documentary trails over the former “Charlie’s Angel” star’s journey in battling the dreaded disease, including her treatments and hopes in getting back to her feet once again. The 62-year-old actress was diagnosed with anal cancer back in 2006, which has now spread in her liver.

“Farrah’s Story” was the network’s most-watched show after more than a year, not including the Olympics broadcast.

The documentary came in second to CBS’ season finale of “Numb3rs,” which garnered over 9.6 million viewers.

Fawcett’s documentary was supposed to be a private viewing for family and friends, but Farrah decided to bring it to a bigger audiences when she realized that her fight can help inspire others who are suffering the same fate, says Alana Stewart, Farrah’s close friend and co-producer of the film
