The controversial gay kiss between Robert Pattinson and Javier Beltram may have led “Twilight” fans into a state of uproar, but the movie “Little Ashes” didn’t seem to please the critics’ eyes.
According to reviews, Pattinson lacks the “sparkle,” the magic he once possessed as Edward Cullen, in playing the role of Salvador Dali. A few were impressed though, such as the London Daily, which refers to Pattinson’s work as a “spirited performance.”
However, most say, especially MTV’s Kurt Loder, that the whole movie goes kaput once Pattie wears Dali’s famous mustache.
But this shouldn’t be bad news for Pattie’s fans. Going beyond the teen flicks may falter now for the actor, but he could not be Edward Cullen forever, as he, just like Daniel Radcliffe in Harry Potter, has to grow up.
Pattinson is set to another heavy role in Bel-Ami, the film adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s novel of the same name next year.
