Farrah Fawcett’s son Redmond O’Neal, who is currently in prison for drug possession charges, was let out of jail for a few hours Saturday to visit his mom. It was an unusual reunion because after a judge signed a removal order, sheriff officials drove Redmond from jail to visit Farrah.
Redmond, who was wearing a prison jumpsuit, was handcuffed when he was brought to Farrah, but was removed so he could kiss and hug his mom. During the three-house visit, the mother-and-son cried several times as the emotional Farrah said sorry for any mistakes she had made in the past while raising him and for not being there for him at all times. Redmond responded telling her not to blame herself for his multiple arrests and drug addiction. He also promised Farrah that he’s going to kick drugs this time around - for her.
Both Farrah and Redmond were upset about each other’s appearance - Redmond became emotional when he saw his mom’’s weight loss, while Farrah was distraught to see Redmond in prison clothes.
Although sources to Farrah have tried to downplay the seriousness of her condition, her doctor has announced that Farrah’s cancer has spread from its original site to the liver. In addition, judges don’t allow prisoners to be released from jail unless the inmate has gravely ill relatives, has to attend funerals of immediate family members and other serious emergencies.
