Justin Timberlake has just released his new MTV reality show called “The Phone.” This isn’t any other kind of reality show because four contestants are given high-stakes missions via their cellphones and they have to complete each task to win the $50,000 prize.
The show is a combination of Fear Factor meets Mission Impossible. Just imagine – one of the tasks involved climbing Seattle’s Space Needle. Timberlake explained his show telling People mag, “We take four people and put them through a game of hell, basically. We make them characters in an action film. We constantly throw a curve ball.”
“The Phone” was inspired by a similar program in Holland, but Justin Timberlake explains, “our version is that show on acid. I helped format the show and come up with ideas to constantly up the stakes on the contestants. But I have such a great team that put together the ins and outs of the show.”
The Phone made its debut earlier tonight, April 21 at 10 PM ET/PT on MTV. Timberlake acts as the executive producer for this action-laden reality show.
