Chris Brown attended court duties and pleaded “not guilty” Monday to felony charges of assaulting and threatening to kill his girlfriend Rihanna back in early February. With this news, Rihanna’s dad is so not pleased and has said Brown is in denial.
The 19-year-old singer arrived at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center at 3:24 p.m.in a black SUV, accompanied by his mother and four bodyguards. He was then escorted by sheriff’s deputies into the building. After hearing the counts against him, which included assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury and making criminal threats, the LA Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg asked for his plea and Brown responded with a hushed, “not guilty, your honor.”
If convicted on both charges, Chris Brown will face a maximum sentence of four years and eight months in prison. He will be back in court on April 29.
Rihanna returned to her home in Barbados late last week and “would be pleased if this were over quickly”. Meanwhile, her dad Ronald Fenty isn’t pleased about Brown’s plea. He was quoted saying, “So what happened? Somebody else did this to Rihanna then?”
