Giselle Bundchen may not look the typical housewife, but becoming a wife and a step-mom to Tom Brady’s son, John Edward Thomas, came quite naturally, the supermodel revealed. Giselle and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady got married 18 months after Brady’s ex actress Bridget Moynahan gave birth to his son. This is the first time Giselle opened up about everything.
Bundchen talks to Vanity Fair for its May issue, saying, “It was definitely a surprise for both of us. In the beginning you’re living this romantic fantasy; you’re thinking, This can’t be true, it’s so good! And then, Whoops – wake-up call!”
Giselle had met Tom Brady back in 2006 and fell in love almost instantly because of his charismatic smile. However, 2 1/2 months into dating, Moynahan’s news came. Bundchen said, “[I]t was a very challenging situation. Obviously, in the beginning, it’s not the ideal thing. You question at times – ‘Should I stay here? Maybe you should work this out. But when people break up, it’s for a reason.”
Apparently, the 28-year-old supermodel believes that the baby’s arrival did not affect their romance. In fact, has contributed to their bliss.According to Giselle, without Tom’s baby, he wouldn’t have known what she was made of, and she wouldn’t have known what he was made of. Their relationship grew stronger because he has his “heart in a good place and it made me feel more in love with him; it made me realize who he was.”
Brady and Gisele will be celebrating their marriage with family and friends in Costa Rica this Friday. Asked what she loves about Tom, Bündchen says, “He’s very close to his family. He’s Catholic. His parents have been married 40 years. He’s got a pure heart. That’s all that matters – he’s got the purest heart. I feel grateful because I have a lot of love in my life. I found the person I’m sharing my life with. I have a good man.”
