Rihanna’s back in the public eye for weeks and probably tries to go back to her normal life a day at a time. In fact, as a tattoo lover that she is, it has been reported that Rihanna has gotten some new ink, which may or may not be controversial. Why you ask? Because she had a miniature tattoo on the upper right ribcage, just below her underarm.
Rihanna reportedly flew New York-based tattoo artist BangBang out to LA to tattoo a small gun on her body. BangBang posted pictures of Rihanna’s new ink on his MySpace page. According to the tattoo artist, Rihanna originally wanted the tattoo placed just below her shoulders near her armpits — as shown in a photo where BangBang sketched the guns there — but she changed her mind because of her CoverGirl contract.
“I really wanted to put it here… she loved ‘em… but, cover girl wouldn’t have liked it much… and they pay the bills!” he wrote under the photo, captioning another, “ended up doing it on her ribbs…”
Rihanna is not new to getting ink done. The R&B singer already has several tattoos on her, including a set of stars down her back (which matches Chris Brown’s stars), a Pisces sign behind her right ear, a music note on her ankle, a tribal tattoo on her hand and the word “Shhh…” on her index finger.
In related news, there’s a movement dedicated to Rihanna, called (well) “Rihanna’s Law”, which if approved, would prevent anyone to release private pictures or information that exploits victims of crimes. Since Rihanna’s photos with a bruised face and fat lip leaked last month on the TMZ Website, the proposed law is gaining momentum.
