Summit Entertainment is confident that Robert Pattinson would rake in big bucks with their upcoming movies… and not only in the Twilight Saga. In fact, the studio has signed in Rob for a starring role on a new romantic drama called “Memoirs.”

The story of Memoirs revolves around two young lovers, whose relationship is put to a test after a string of family tragedies. With plenty of female fans on the vampire romance flick ‘Twilight,’ Robert Pattinson will clearly attract more fans with this new film.

Rob has a massive fanbase, but unlike Kristen Stewart who has bagged a role post-Twilight in the biopic, “The Runaways”, this is the first film Pattinson has signed on. After Twilight, Rob was supposed to work alongside Rosario Dawson on the indie project “Parts Per Billion,” but Pattinson reportedly dropped out because of scheduling conflicts with the filming of New Moon. However, two films wherein Rob stars in is scheduled to be release soon – “How to Be” and “Little Ashes” – both of which were filmed pre-Twilight.

Fortunately, since Summit Entertainment is also the company behind the Twilight saga, the filming of ‘Memoirs’ may just be scheduled around the shooting of ‘New Moon’ and the third Twilight film “Eclipse.” It’s a chance for Robert Pattinson to breakaway from being typecasted as a vampire and proving his acting props in other commercial films.

The original script of Memoirs was written by Will Fetters, who was partly responsible for the success of Anne Hathaway’s “Rachel Getting Married” movie. Six-time Emmy nominee director Allen Coulter is in talks with Summit.
