Robert Pattinson opened up his first on-screen love scene, but it ain’t between Edward and Bella. It’s with a man! He tells GQ magazine’s April issue that he was uncomfortable filming “Little Ashes” as crew members watched and giggled during his graphic bed scene with his male co-star.
On his upcoming period film “Little Ashes,” wherein he played surrealist painter Salvador Dalí, Rob had the chance to take off his clothes. He revealed, “In a lot of ways, I was kind of crossing lines of what I thought I was comfortable doing. I had to do all this naked stuff.”
Pattinson continued, “I thought I’d never get another acting job again. So I was like, ‘Yeah — why not try to do something weird?’ There’s all these gay-sex scenes. And, you know, I haven’t even done a sex scene with a girl in my whole career.”
However, RPattz didn’t feel playing a gay man was the difficult part of the bed scene. Instead, it was having an audience on set for it. He explained, “Here I am, with Javier [Beltrán], who plays [Federico Garcí] Lorca, doing an extremely hard-core sex scene, where I have a nervous breakdown afterward. And because we’re both straight, what we were doing seemed kind of ridiculous. … And it wasn’t even a closed set. There were all these Spanish electricians giggling to themselves.”
In real life, however, Pattinson was overheard complaining about his bad luck with women while out at a bar recently. Apparently, a source heard him say, “I can’t get laid [in N.Y.C.]!” Then his friend replied, “A blind person with a British accent could get tail.” Two of his friends laughed at Rob’s expense, then a cute brunette walked over to Pattinson and chatted up the ‘New Moon’ star. According to those at the bar, Pattinson escorted his new friend out the door and told his buddy with a grin on his face, “I’ll be back.”
