Pop singer Mandy Moore has tied the knot with rocker Ryan Adams in a secret ceremony Tuesday in Savannah, Georgia, after announcing their engagement earlier this year.

In February, Moore said she wanted her wedding to be “less … of a big deal” saying “Hopefully, it can happen and slip by unnoticed by everybody. I guess we have to be sort of sneaky about it.” .. and that’s just what exactly she and Adams did.

The couple got married on a tiny old brick church with just a pair of silver bands, the pastor, some close friends and each other’s company.

People mag had a chance to interview Pastor Steve Schulte, who married the couple in a last-minute (the day before the wedding) getaway this week at the Whitefield CHapel at Bethesda Home for Boys. He said, “She was thrilled to be getting married. She was giddy but not in a childish way. She was obviously so happy.”

The 24-year-old Moore simply wore a cream-colored dress and sandals, while the 34-year-old Adams wore tight skinny jeans, a shirt, sneakers and a sport coat.The ceremony lasted 8 minutes, but the couple held hands and faced each other while exchanging vows and rings, which they just purchased from a local jeweler.

“It was so romantic. It was awesome. I just can’t stress how happy they seemed,” said one of the people at the wedding.

Mandy Moore will grace the cover of Marie Claire on April, where she dishes about her new husband, saying “[He’s] a good egg. I’m in awe of him – his brain, his passion. He’s truly one of a kind.”

The couple  has been dating since March 2008.
