After wrapping up a guest-appearance in CSI with husband Pete Wentz, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is reportedly moving into “Melrose Place,” returning to her TV roots after landing her breakthrough role on the WB’s “7th Heaven.”
In “Melrose,” the singer will be playing a manipulative small-town girl who has come to L.A. with a secret and uses her girl-next-door charm to get everything she wants. Her character “Violet” is a ripoff from the original series’ Southern girl Sany Harling (Amy Locane).
Ashlee Simpson took a four-year break from acting to focus on her music career. She -along with Pete- came back with a small role on the March 18 episode of CSI: NY as a Bonnie-and-Clyde wannabe couple.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the cast of ‘Melrose Place’ and look forward to being a part of its new generation of residents.
