Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning may become co-stars in the Twilight sequel “New Moon,” but there’s a huge possibility that these two young stars may become best buds after they work together in another film – the upcoming biopic of the 1970s all-girl rock-n-roll band “The Runaways.”
Variety reports that Dakota Fanning is negotiating to portray the role of lead singer Cheri Currie. The 15-year-old Fanning is the same age when Currie made her debut with the band who made songs like “Cherry Bomb” and “Born to Be Bad” famous. On the other hand, Kristen Stewart is already scheduled to play Joan Jett.
Both Stewart and Fanning have been busy these last couple of years. Stewart will soon be seen in Miramax’s “Adventureland” aside from her “Twilight” lead, while Dakota has worked with “The Secret Life of Bees,” “Push” and voicing the title role in “Coraline.” She’ll play the vampire Jane in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”
Production for “The Runaways” is expected to begin in late spring after both Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning have completed “New Moon.”
