Open Casting for New Moon Disappoints PLENTY of fans

Aside from Dakota Fanning and the rest of the celebrities rumored to become part of the Twilight sequel, “New Moon,” hundreds of hopefuls traveled to Vancouver Sunday for the open casting.

Fans and actors alike gathered for a chance to join Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in New Moon, which is set to hit theaters in November.

twilight-11 The casting agents responsible for the auditions held an open call in Vancouver, which was advertised on Craigslist, were looking for actors “between 15 and 25 years old, male and female and who are First Nations/aboriginal.” The actors accepted will join Taylor Lautner’s character “Jacob Black” and the rest of his rest of his Quileute tribe on the La Push reservation. The filming is scheduled from March to May.

As expected, many people came as early as 5am and soon filled the street down to the corner. Fans from as far as Florida beat the cold as they studied the Meyer’s “New Moon” book to prepare for their turn in reading the script.

Unfortunately, not everyone had the chance to show off their acting skills. At around 12:30pm, assistants started telling the crowd that they can’t accept any more applicants.

Casting assistant Bim Narine said, “This is more than we expected.”

    What if someone that really knew how to act was in the crowd of people sent home because the casting ppl had too much applicants? thats not fair. u dont see American idol doing that. they take as many as 100,000 ppl for auditions.

    ya I totally agree, 2 turn away all thoughs ppl was messed up! And wat do they mean, “we didn’t expect this many ppl”? Do they relize how many ppl love Twilight? Wow!
