Usher has a family emergency and canceled a major event to take care of his wife.

The R&B superstar was supposedly scheduled to perform at the pre-Grammys party Saturday night hosted by record mogul, Clive Davis. However, Davis announced that Usher and his mom called him up to cancel his rehearsal scheduled earlier the day and the subsequent performance at the Beverly Hilton due to a “serious illness in the family.”

Although reps for Usher did not elaborate on the emergency, a source close to the singer denied rumors that Usher’s wife Tameka Foster has died after a plastic surgery gone bad.

Access Hollywood reported Usher’s wife suffered complications from a cosmetic procedure in Brazil.

Usher and Foster has been married since August 2007 and have two kids.
