Jessica Simpson has been on the news lately and it’s all been negative publicity. The singer has been criticized for her new “curvy figure” she revealed at the Kiss Country’s annual Chili Cookoff last week, but her sister Ashlee Simpson and other celebrities like Miley Cyrus and Kim Kardashian were quick to defend Jessica.
In a performance by Jessica Simpson at a Virginia stage Thursday night, she thanked the crowd of Charlottesville for their support and to “Stay positive, and pray out loud! I love you guys, good night.” It seems that the hush-hush hasn’t affected her much, but on her performance at the University of Virginia’s John Paul Jones Arena, the 28-year-old singer became outspoken about the recent criticisms regarding her weight.
Wearing tight black pants, a V-neck T-shirt and hip-length black jacket, Jessica Simpson tells the crowd, “Please remember, no matter what you go through in life, somebody else might have it harder. So just appreciate.I feel like in our world today we focus on so many things that are completely pointless.”

Jennifer Hudson is working again, a few months after her family tragedy where her mother, brother, nephew were shot in Chicago last year and her estranged brother-in-law is currently charged with the crime.
Hudson has been privately mourning her family’s murders since October, which came shortly after the release of her self-titled album on September 30. Since then, Jennifer Hudson placed her album promotions on hold and was out of the public eye.
This week, however, the American Idol alumni will start working again to film a new video for the song “If This Isn’t Love,” which is scheduled to air on Feb. 9, a day after her performance at the Grammys, where she is nominated for four awards. Aside from these events, Hudson will also be performing the national anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday.

When it comes to news about Amy Winehouse, you should expect some drama. This time, however, the singer had no idea that her London home has been robbed off valuable guitars and recording equipment. While the burglary happened, Amy was vacationing in the Caribbean.
The door of her home was smashed and the burglars took off with the singer’s things early Thursday. Apparently, a neighbor of Amy Winehouse disrupted the robbers, who then escaped before the cops arrived on the scene.
Winehouse’s rep tells People magazine, “Amy is upset, of course. But everything can be replaced. From her point of view, her favorite guitar is with her in St. Lucia. It was a special present, given her by [record label] Universal for winning the Grammy awards last year.”

Rumors has it that the revival of the “Tomb Raider” film franchise is on the works… and several noteworthy changes are to be made - such as dropping Angelina Jolie to play the main character Lara Croft.
Although nothing has been confirmed yet, it seems that the Transformers star, Megan Fox is the main choice for the part. According to reports, after the 2001 Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and 2003 Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, the third part of the series will feature Croft’s backstory, which will take her away from her English aristocratic roots. Of course, there will be new villains, love interests and missions to the third installment.

Drew Barrymore and her ex Justin Long were spotted enjoying each other’s company.
Although the couple split in July, the two laughed around, hugged and slow-danced during a recent visit to the new L.A. lounge, h.wood, accompanied with a group of friends. Before their night out, Drew Barrymore and Justin Long spent some time together promoting their film, “He’s Just Not That Into You” and they seemed like good friends.
However, according to an onlooker, the two looked “genuinely happy to be with each other” and looked “super cute together.” But according to Drew, there’s nothing more to it than friendship, telling People mag, “Justin and I are absolutely just friends.”

The Oscars is right around the corner and presenters have been announced. This year, Jennifer Aniston will take the stage at the Academy Awards and has a surprise up her sleeves.
Apparently, Both Angelina Jolie and Aniston’s ex Brad Pitt are up for awards this year, so if Jennifer is scheduled to present any of the two, there might be some drama behind the scenes, or even aired live. Rumors are spreading like wildfire that the 39-year-old may be in a brave mood at the Oscars and either make Jolie look like a joke of the day, probably more embarassing than forgetting Jolie’s name, like what Kate Winslet did at the Golden Globes.
John Mayer, Jen’s 31-year-old beau, tells Star mag that he demanded Jennifer Aniston to take the gig, saying, “You’ve got to go. Why do you hide in this town? By presenting at the Oscars, you’ll tell the world: ‘I don’t care about Brad and Angie. I belong here, too.’”
Besides this, Mayer may just propose to Aniston when she turns 40 on Feb 11. If he does, she’ll have a good ol’ rock to show off at the awards. However, John Mayer replied when asked if he was planning to propose soon, “There will be a big story coming out of the Oscars that night—and it won’t be about the winners.”
