Jessica Simpson has been criticized for her weight gain last week, but she definitely has a lot of people defending her. Aside from Kim Kardashian and her sister Ashlee who openly said it was “disgusting” for the media to sensationalize such an issue, Jessica Simpson also has other people’s support, including model Heidi Klum, Carmen Electra and Jessica’s ex-husband Nick Lachey.
Carmen Electra told People mag Friday night in Tampa, “She’s a gorgeous girl. A lot of women would die to look as good as she looks. There’s going to be moments where people don’t necessarily like your look or what you’re wearing, and that’s okay. Next week, she’ll rock some outfit that will blow everyone away.”
Heidi Klum also told People mag on Thursday night that “everyone should be the way they feel comfortable. There are always people who are quick to offer an opinion and when you are in the public eye, people will always talk about you and put their opinions on you. That’s what you get when you’re in the public eye. But people need to be happy with the way they are.”
Nick Lachey, on the other hand, tells Extra, “I hope she’s happy, whatever size she comes in. I can’t believe it’s this big of a story and people are making such a huge deal about it. I’m never ceased to be amazed by people’s reaction to things. It’s ridiculous that it would be making headlines. But you can’t believe everything that’s written or reported in the media. I wish her nothing but happiness.”
