If you watched American Idol last night, Bikini Girl Katrina Darrell should have caught your attention – it did the trick for Simon and Randy. Although she did create a little drama by dissing the newest judge Kara DioGuardi, she eventually made it to Hollywood.

There will always be someone like Darrell on American Idol… here’s a flashback of the other controversial American Idol contestants since Season 1.

• Season 1 – James Conrad Verraros – Jim Verraros was the first openly gay contestant on Idol. FOX reportedly told him to remove all gay comments from his online journal and NEVER aired his homosexuality on air. When he was eliminated, he came out publicly in an article for The Advocate.
• Season 2 – Frenchie Davis – Semifinalist Davis was disqualified from Idol back in 2003 when nude pictures of her on a kiddie-porn website were revealed. Although she tried to win herself back into the competition, FOX stood their ground and didn’t allowed her to continue the show.
• Season 4 – Corey Clark – Remember the guy who made it to the Top 24 only to be disqualified when Idol producers found out that he was kind of a fugitive? That’s Corey Clark! He never disclosed to the Idol execs that he was charged in Kansas District Court with resisting arrest, battery upon his sister, and criminal restraint.
• Season 5 – Becky O’Donohue – In 2006, O’Donohue made news when photos of her and twin sister Jesse were discovered in Maxim’s online fantasy baseball game where they posed in skimpy small towels, baseball outfits and bikinis. Although FOX didn’t disqualify her for the photos, she was one of the first 4 contestants eliminated that year.
• Season 6 – Antonella Barba – Who would forget the provocative pictures of Antonella Barba posing topless, dancing and grinding, consuming alcohol, flipping the bird and sitting on a toilet with a sheet of toilet paper on her hand.
• Season 7 – David Hernandez – News broke that David worked on Dick’s Cabaret – a strip club in Phoenix, Arizona where his job included a routine full nudity and lap dances for male clients.

Looks like Katrina Darrell will be the paparazzi favorite on season 8 of American Idol, so be prepared to see more provocative photos of her in the next weeks. And believe me, she has LOTS of sexy pictures out there in cyberspace. Here are some proof…
