Tom Cruise is a romantic… he says.

For his wife’s 30th birthday, the 46-year-old Cruise says they’re celebrating along the way to her special day. “I’ve been kind of surprising her throughout the week with things,” He tells Ryan Secreast’s KIIS-FM radio show Wednesday.

When Seacrest asked Cruise advice on how to woo a woman, Cruise says, “I like romance. You gotta think about these things. You’ve got to know the right thing and pay attention throughout the year … and just know your lady.”

Holmes celebrated her birthday tonight on Broadway as she performed in “All My Sons”. Meanwhile, Cruise is scheduled to show up on the Hollywood premiere of his movie Valkyrie.

I can still picture Holmes on her Dawson’s Creek show looking all teenager-y. Now she’s 30. Time flies too fast. Check out pictures of Katie Holmes and daughter Suri out in New York this morning…
