SETH ROGAN

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia; whereby the brain’s functions decline over time. Patients offer suffer from memory issues, difficulty learning new skills, problems with speech, language and expression, delusions, and drastic personality changes. Rogen’s mother-in-law, Adele Miller, had an early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease, and so he saw first-hand the way in which the illness changed her and left her unable to care for herself.

Rogen remains an advocate of CBD law being updated for medicinal purposes, but also for full adult-use legalization in the US. He is now a member of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, and remains one of their most high-profile members. On a more productive and focused note, he has also founded the non-profit Hilarity for Charity alongside his wife, which researches into treatments and care for Alzheimer’s disease sufferers, including the use of CBD oiland related products as a treatment management tool.

Having dedicated a good chunk of his adult life to advocating CBD use, Seth Rogen remains an inspiration to those suffering and looking for some respite, no matter what their condition or illness

MICHAEL J. FOX

Diagnosed at 29 years old, Parkinson’s disease is a condition whereby the brain becomes damaged over time as it loses nerve cells in a part of the brain called the ‘substantia nigra’. It’s not clear or proven what causes this loss, but it reduces the amount of dopamine in the brain, which regulates the movement of the body. The effects, therefore, include the involuntary shaking of limbs, a loss of balance, slow movement, a loss of the sense of smell and inflexible muscles and joints.

Michael himself uses CBD oil and related products to treat the complications and side effects of his Parkinson’s disease, allowing him to continue on with his hectic schedule of both running a large charity and taking part in occasional acting and personal appearances. CBD oil raises the levels of dopamine in the body naturally, without the harmful side effects that pharmaceutical interventions to do the same thing often present. Raised dopamine allows Parkinson’s sufferers great mobility of their movement, less involuntary shaking and muscle seizures, and less pain around sore and tender joints.

MORGAN FREEMAN

He was in a terrible car accident,  where responders had to rip open his vehicle just to get him out.  The accident virtually destroyed his left shoulder, elbow, and arm. Although physicians did their best to reconstruct the arm through extensive surgery, the nerve damage never was completely repaired.

Since the accident, Freeman often is seen wearing a compression glove to prevent blood from pooling. He has discussed his pain at length in interviews. It was because of this continuing pain that he finally turned to medicinal cannabis. Like many people his age (80 years young), it seems as if Freeman never considered cannabis as a treatment option until he so desperately needed it. Now, it’s something he can’t live without. According to Freeman, “I have fibromyalgia pain in this arm, and the only thing that offers any relief is marijuana.” While he never specified what strain or cannabinoid he prefers, there is significant research about CBD’s effectiveness in treating chronic pain. It is possible Morgan Freeman uses CBD for pain, perhaps alongside other cannabinoids, to take full advantage of the Entourage Effect.

WHOOPI GOLDBERG

Whoopi has been in the headlines for launching her own medical marijuana company – and this mission has come as a result of her own personal positive experience using CBD oil. Many people still wonder what does CBD feel like? But as Whoopi herself has pointed out, it is non-psychoactive and has no ‘high’ associated with it.

Whoopi originally used CBD oil as a natural relief to ease her mind from the stresses, anxieties and ‘always-on’ mentality that is so common amongst those working in the public eye with hectic business schedules. She also found respite from her painful glaucoma symptoms and her monthly menstruation aches and pains in the use of a vape pen to inhale CBD oil.

Goldberg and cannabis industry leader Maya Elisabeth launched Whoopi & Maya, a brand of medical cannabis products targeting menstrual pain relief. The nascent line includes a cannabis bath soak, a THC herbal tincture, CBD and beeswax body balm, and raw, organic cacao with either THC or CBD, which is also rich in magnesium and iron – another thing that can help ease some pain for women.

NATE DIAZ

Nick was suspended in 2015 after he tested positive for marijuana prior to the UFC 183. It is alleged he invited an agent to smoke some weed with him after they had an argument earlier that week.

In an interview with Nate after he lost a match against Connor McGregor, he explained to the media that, in his opinion, he won the fight even if McGregor’s score was higher, and got him the majority decision. He was not upset; it seemed as if his mind was not on the fight, but on the tokes he was taking from a vape of CBD oil. He says the non-psychoactive form of cannabis helps him heal after fighting.

Diaz’ use of CBD, in this case, was designed to help recovery without getting hung up on painkillers, he used it immediately after the fight: “It helps with the healing process and inflammation, stuff like that,” Diaz told the media. “So you want to get these for before and after the fights, training. It’ll make your life a better place.”
